Karine Jackson Goes Plastic-Free
Karine Jackson Hair & Beauty Salon in Seven Dials Goes Plastic Free
Plastic free July may have finished but for us, plastic-free is an ongoing commitment. We have pledged to go single use plastic free and have enlisted our lovely client, BBC One Show and ethical journalist Lucy Siegle to help us do it. We’ve done a plastic audit and are working on implementing a blueprint which we will then share to other salons and small businesses to help them do the same. We are already London’s first certified sustainable salon and now we plan to be the UK’s first single use plastic free one!
In salon, you’ll see the changes we’ve already made, and we have a plastic free lifestyle wall where you can buy some of our favourite products, including drink bottles (£10); Who Gives A Crap loo roll and tissue (£2); bamboo cups (£7) and lots more to be added. We will also fill your water bottle for free so pop in when you’re passing by.
We’ll be hosting a fantastic event about our journey to go plastic free on September 6 from 5-7pm, so email the salon if you’d like to come along - we’ll have mini makeovers with Bare Minerals, perfume sampling with Atelier cologne, delicious macron towers courtesy of Pierre Herme’ Macrons, and Lucy will read from her brilliant book, Turning The Tide On Plastic. Join us for a glass of fizz, some vegan food, and info from Organic Colour Systems and Beauty Kitchen on their Reuse, Recycle, Refill pledges.
