Well, what a few weeks it has been.
It started with a trip to Manchester Stockport, our first members’ night up north, which is a Fellowship for British Hairdressing event where teams get the chance to present their latest looks on stage. What a great success.
We also had an elite audience with Romano Zullo and Russell Eaton.
I also held an interview with Darren Messias; what a great story of 4 generations of stylists, a true hairdressing dynasty.

Then it was a quick dash to the train station for the last train back to London.
I finally got back to my flat at 1am; it was back up again at 6am to begin the F.A.M.E team selection process semi finals. What a great day!! Sixteen finalists bidding for the eight places. It’s a long day starting at 9am and finishing around 9pm. We had a sellout audience and the finalists put on an amazing show. The final 8 now go through to the big competition at Salon International this weekend.
Having no off switch and it being one of the judge’s birthdays we decided to have dinner and drinks. With Andy and Tina from the Rush team we celebrated Andreas Stavrou’s birthday until silly o’clock in the morning.
It was up early again and off to the salon – no rest for the wicked…
It is with the heaviest heart that I have to tell you one of my closest friends died last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer. I met Colin Britza in 1992 and along with Margo we have never looked back. All my love is with Colin’s family, his amazing mother Rita and his friends.
At times like these it makes you think about life, especially when one is cut so short. I hope we are all appreciating what we have and live it to the fullest with love and compassion.
I don’t think I have wasted a minute so far and last weekend was massive, we did 2 shows at Shoreditch Town Hall for the Unite Global session 2015. I met really cool people from all over the world. That is something that is so unique to our industry; we work so closely together and share our knowledge. I am proud to be in hairdressing.
I also picked up my new car on the weekend a Fiat 500 – I forgot how much I like driving!
It has also been buzzing in the salon, we have welcomed 4 new team members to Karine Jackson hair and beauty.
Our art team is in full swing preparing for this weekend’s big event Salon International at the excel center. Thanks to Organic Colour Systems and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing we are presenting 2 shows over Saturday and Sunday, then on Monday it is the big day for our 8 finalists for F.A.M.E team 2016…
The lucky four with be announced at the Luncheon I host at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane on 7th December.
I will have all the news from Salon International next week.
Until then, Karine x
