Since I last put my fingers to the keyboard…
I’ve been to two plays, one was Schism: written, directed and performed by our amazing client Athena Stevens. We really enjoyed it, it was a great girls’ night out with the team, unfortunately the boys were busy that night, which is a shame as it was great.
My friend Claire Taylor kindly bought me a ticket to see a play at the Brighton Fringe and I wasn’t sure what to expect. The play was called The Complete Deaths performed by the Spymonkey theatre group and it was brilliant! There are 74 on-stage deaths in the works of William Shakespeare (75 if you count the black ill-favoured fly in Titus Andronicus). The Theatre Royal in Bright is beautiful and we had amazing seats (thanks Claire!)
I have also worked on a couple of shoots this month. One for Colour Soft Magazine where I was assisted by Edward. I had an amazing model and we used the Organic Colour Systems Red mixed with the Power Build Treatment to make a stunning pink (see image, above). See the results here.
I’ve also been shooting covers for Perfect Wedding magazine alongside Kat from Stuart Holmes. I’ve worked with this team for a few years now and it’s always a great day. Jenny Hare is a fantastic photographer.

Tribute Magazine hosted its first Colourworld event on Sunday and Monday in Dalston which was a cool event. A real festival feel with artists presenting at different podiums around the space – I really look forward to watching this event grow. I presented a business and colour feature on how organic colour has made us a niche salon in London.
On Monday night I was at the Alan.D academy in Smithfields where the Fellowship for British Hairdressing was putting on a cutting workshop where I was one of the mentors. It was a brilliant night and the guests were so keen to learn something new. I really felt like I made a difference to how they approached certain haircuts. Events like this are what the Fellowship is all about.
Tonight, I’ll be heading back to East London for Creative Head Magazine’s Coterie event In Session. I’m really looking forward to seeing former F.A.M.E Team member Kim Rance in action on stage tonight.
Amongst all of this I’ve managed to have some fun nights out. Dinner at J-Sheekys on St Martin’s Sqaure in Covent Garden – the oysters there are AMAZING! I also had a great night out at Martin Jackson’s 50th birthday and caught up with some friends at the Easton in Exmouth Market.
This weekend, I’m off to Berlin with the girls, as a treat for our lovely Janet for her birthday. I can’t wait, as the temperature is looking hot, hot, hot at 28 degrees! Which is more than I can say for London today. I’m looking forward to lots of fun, culture and of course champagne. I’ll tell you all about it soon.
