Australia

Australia
Well I am back in sunny London today, all fired up and ready to create some amazing work. I can’t quite believe what I managed to fit into one week in Australia. I landed in Sydney on Saturday and went straight to Bondi for a swim and to see my great mates Colin and Lesley.

Next, I met up with my amazing make-up artist Margaret Aston where we put together our final ideas for the look for the shoot. My mum then picked me up with Clover the SUPER NOVA (my 3 year old niece who is like a fantastic super nova entering the room!). It made me feel very special seeing how excited to she was to see me.

A quick 12 hours in the Gong before heading back to Sydney for the Australian Hair Fashion Awards in Sydney’s iconic Luna Park. The Mannah brothers (Jamil, David and Richard) hosted this great event alongside The Journal magazine. Huge congratulations to Damien Rinaldo on winning Australian Hairdresser of the Year and Kylie O’Toole for Make-Up Artist of the Year (and to all the other winners).  We also had the announcement of the Australian F.A.M.E Team – I wish them a great year ahead. It was great to see Angelo Seminara, Pat Wood, Jane Wild and last year’s Australian Hairdresser of the Year Emiliano Vitale all there.

After a very late night it was off to Melbourne the next day to shoot my 2015 collection. I was feeling very excited and nervous – now it’s all over, what a great shoot, I can’t wait to get the images out there! It was the perfect team: creative director – Errol Douglas, photographer – Andrew O’ Toole, Make-Up – Margaret Aston, Assistant – Nicola Hand, Organic Colour Systems.

After an exhausting few days, it was back to Sydney for some family time. I caught up with my 93-year old grandmother, who was looking fantastic. I took my nieces to the Sydney Royal Easter Show, although I’m not sure who enjoyed it more – me or them! I love the creativeness of the cake displays and the fruit and veg exhibition this year dedicated to the 100 ANZAC at war. Even though this show it about agriculture, it’s another industry showing how creative they can be.

Finally it was back to Wollongong where it was a little rainy but I managed to get some time at the beach and have a fun Easter Sunday with my family.

10 days later and I am heading back to the salon for a training session with my team hosted by Debbie G training. I’m really looking forward to seeing my team inspired and freshened up on their precision cutting.

Until next week xx
