Karine Jackson announced as the new President of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing
Organic colour expert and former London Hairdresser of the Year Karine Jackson is delighted to announce she’s been appointed as the new President for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, a tenure that runs from April 2017 to April 2019.
The organisation was established in 1946 and covers the entire hairdressing industry focusing on promoting artistic and creative quality, providing support for future hairdressing talent. Karine has been the Fellowship’s Chancellor for the last 2 years, a role that included the organisation of the annual Luncheon at the Dorchester hotel, and is a vocal advocate for the hairdressing industry. Karine is only the third female President to take this esteemed role.
A popular choice for President, with a unanimous vote from the AGM, Karine brings a multitude of skills to this position: business owner, visionary and creative talent in her own right, and of course her own brand of energy.
With a passion for taking the highest levels of education, inspiration and connections to The Fellowship membership that is formed of top hairdressers in Britain, Karine is an ardent advocate for British hairdressing and this passion comes through in all that she embraces.
Karine says, “I’m really looking forward to this new role, it’s a real honour for me. I can’t wait to get started, working closely with the team and council to promote the hairdressing industry and our professional standards. Now in its 71st year, I’m looking forward to building on the brilliant foundations of the Fellowship to take it into the future.”
Outgoing President Bruno Marc said, “I can’t think of a better president to hand over the baton to, Karine has been an amazing asset to The Fellowship; she has huge energy and vision for the next phase and she is driven by maintaining enormous value for the members and also to growing the membership throughout the UK and I have no doubt she will be hugely successful in this.”
Karine officially takes on the role at the President’s Night on May 8. Karine will work closely with the Fellowship Council and Finance and Events Committees to ensure the growth, integrity and relevance of the Fellowship is as strong for the next generation of hairdressers as it has been for the past 7 decades. The Fellowship is in the best care with Chairman Jo Martin, and vice-president Andreas Stavrou and President Karine Jackson working together.
