A busy salon, London Lifestyle Awards & shameful celebrities…

Last week we kicked off with the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Hairdresser of the year, Guy Kremer, and what an evening it was held at the stunning Banking Hall in the City. It was an opulent event where we were treated to coiffed hair, stunning McQueen dresses and head pieces on gorgeous models. Then a quick bite to eat at Forbes and home to bed.

Busy day in the salon on Tuesday (and actually all week.) The team are really working well together, new and old.

Wednesday night was the London Lifestyle awards where my friend Errol Douglas won London ambassador of the year. It was a fun evening with Errol’s team, Gary Green from Nanokeratin and Julie Allen. Massive congratulations to Errol, he really does support London and is a great ambassador.

One thing that really did upset me though was the dismissiveness of some celebrities. I’m not usually one to publicly criticise, but I think this deserves it. Caprice! If you’re not sure who she is – a 90s model. She did the up down with her eyes and flicked her hand at my friend when he said hello; really, is this how we treat people Caprice?! I don’t think so and Sinitta when you are at an event like this it is all about supporting the people who are up for awards and building PR within the event. When a young girl asks to have a picture taken with you the wrong answer is “I don’t have time for you.” Ask yourselves would an A list celebrity do this?? Does it hurt to be nice to the very people that put you where you are? Shame on you….

A busy day in the salon Thursday and a night off, sorry Al I missed your birthday quiz night at the pub. Sounded like great fun!

Friday night was spent with Nicola Pembro, her sister and Nicola’s close friends for her birthday; we had a great time eating and drinking at Scoff and Banter Leicester Square. Far too many Champagnes consumed there…

Followed by a slow start Saturday morning! Saturday afternoon was spent with family for the beautiful Wylder’s 1st birthday, she had a great time dancing and playing. In the evening was a little trick or treating with 4-year-old Oliver. Brilliant fun.

Monday morning up early in the fog and off to Edinburgh for our first event in years up there. What a great night, 6 artists and 12 models, The Voodoo Rooms had not seen anything like it. A great evening spent networking afterwards, hopefully we can build a great foundation for the Fellowship North – our next event is on the 7th March and I can’t wait.

We were treated to an amazing breakfast on a beautiful sunny morning at Prestonfield Manor by Alison Jameson PR before we were on our flight back to London, a quick dash into the salon for a couple of clients then off to the Colour Project and Project X finale evening. Simon is our colour specialist in the salon and has finished a year long course with the best colorist in the world, well done Simon. I would recommend this course to any colourist that wants to get to the next level. The last event of the year for Colour Project and Project X is the finale evening. Hosted By Katie Mulcahy and Ashleigh Hodges. Simon spoke so well and presented a really cool look on Reagan. It was a great night so well done to the whole team.

Back in the salon this morning for clients and now a whole load of office work…

Have a great week,
