Well what a great month! The salon has been buzzing like it was at Christmas, the team are working to capacity, there’s a great atmosphere in the salon and to finish the month off, I spent Friday at the judging of the Australian Hair Fashion awards. The entries were amazing (a huge well done to David Mannah) and the hairdressing elite were there judging, Errol Douglas, Andy Hensman, Tina Farey, Sasha Mascolo and Jamie Stevens to name but a few. I’m really excited that I will be able to go to the awards finals at Luna Park in Sydney on the 29th March. I fly in the day before and will be straight into casting models for my own shoot as on the 31st March I’ll be shooting for the British Hairdressing Awards (all the prep has started!)
On Saturday I was compering the Academy Hair Awards in Esher. What a great salon group and team they have there – congratulations to all the winners and to Meryl Thompson on winning Stylist of the year. The event was held at Rock Salt, where the canapés and champagne were flowing. It was a great honour to be asked to compere at this event, well done to Julie Allen for organising it.
On Monday night I was at a workshop for Afro hair, hosted by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing. What a great night and an area of hairdressing I would like to explore further.
It was so exciting to see the snow this week! I love London in the winter, putting on my big coat and going for a winter walk. I have my annual winter walk with friends this weekend, so I’ll let you know how we get on.
