Hi I’m Ashleigh and I am delighted to be blogging for Karine Jackson. I really hope these tips will help you.

Why skin changes throughout spring/summer…
Skin can change with the seasons. Seasonal skin can tend to have sensitivity and most of the time we don’t know what causes it. We then stress out, which can aggravate any existing problems. The symptoms that may occur are dullness of the skin, as well as dry patches, roughness, itchiness, oiliness or breakouts.

If we are experiencing any of these symptoms then unfortunately our skin is prone to seasonal allergies.
The are a number of reasons and solutions to everyone’s problems…
Moisturising: This is a vital part of the facial routine that many people put off and a lot of people think that it will make the skin oilier in summer! It is vital to moisturise during every season to maintain balance all the time. A dermatologist will be able to adjust your moisturizer to suit the season and your personal skin type.

Cleansing: During the spring and summer months, you may need a cleanser that is more gentle than your usual one because you want to help soothe the allergies and harsh chemicals in some cleansers can aggravate the symptoms of unhealthy skin. The Ultra calming cleanser is ideal for this time of the year.

Exfoliation: Everybody needs to replenish their skin and buffing away dead skin cells is the ideal way to do this. Exfoliating regularly will help circulation as well as getting rid of the dull surface of your skin, making it feel smooth and look brighter! Try Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant.

Makeup can also have a huge affect on changes to the skin and not everybody finds the correct foundation for their skin type. In the summer, the skin can get abused due to sun damage and dehydration. I would recommend a foundation that has an SPF of around 30 to protect your skin from the harsh rays of the sun.

The oil glands in the skin can sometimes become over-active in hotter months so if make up isn’t removed correctly it can block our follicles, which will then result in breakouts.
Just like ourselves, our skin can get distressed. Many of these problems can be caused by lack of care and attention so making sure our skin gets all the vitamins and minerals it needs should be a very important part of your morning routine.

Take control of your skin, don’t let it take control of you!
